Here we see Asocial Resource Violence. The perpetrator is actively looking for a victim. He wants the resource (purse). He doesn’t care about the victim (victim de-humanized).
He doesn’t attack the first person he sees with a purse. He attacks the first person he sees with a purse that he THINKS he can successfully take the purse from with minimal risk.
The personal security strategy involves using situational awareness and strong body language (Visual Fence) to actively DETER predators from targeting YOU. You raise the risk to the Predator.
